Waterways (MoPSW): Sarbananda Sonowal today joined thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) karyakartas and citizens at the party's Jan Jagaran Rally in Dibrugarh, delivering a pointed message to the Congress the nation comes first, and those who question its unity and institutions must answer to the people.

The rally echoed with slogans of "Nation First, Always" as the crowd pledged to stand firm against forces that divide the country.

"We reiterated our collective resolve: zero compromise on India's unity, sovereignty and security," Sarbananda Sonowal said. "Divisive forces continue to spread misinformation and undermine national progress, while India, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, marches resolutely forward toward empowerment and a Viksit Bharat.”

Turning his fire on the Congress, Sonowal accused the party of nurturing division and patronising the politics of separation.

"The Congress is the seed of division, a patron of divisive politics and a political force weighed down by allegations of corruption," Sonowal said.

"A party that raises questions about the nation's unity, integrity and the credibility of democratic institutions, along with the other opposition parties, must be answerable to the people of this country for its own position.”

Sonowal said the BJP's stand against anti-India forces, and against any politics that runs counter to the national interest, would remain firm and unwavering. He also challenged the Congress over its campaign against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

"Instead of spreading propaganda in the name of opposing SIR, the Congress should place its objections before the nation with facts and logic," Sonowal said.

Contrasting the opposition's approach with that of the Prime Minister, Sonowal called Modi the architect of a new India, and said the rally's logans captured how workers see him: India's strength, India's integrity, India's morale and India's faith.

"Under the Prime Minister's leadership, the country continues its journey of development, with the welfare of the poor, the empowerment of our youth, the progress of our farmers and the strengthening of Nari Shakti at its heart," Sonowal said.

He further said the enthusiastic, spontaneous participation of several thousand party workers and citizens reflected the people's commitment to national unity, public service and the building of a developed India.
