KOLKATA: A city court today ordered the release of Manoj Nagel, who was arrested by the West Bengal Police in connection with the Saradha scam.

City Sessions Court Judge Arvind Mishra said Nagel be "released at once" when he was produced by CBI here.

CBI counsel submitted that Nagel, who was arrested in Saradha Tours and Travels case and was an employee of the Saradha Group, could be released since his name was not in the charge sheet framed so far and no documents were found in his possession.

The counsel said that CBI had no objection if he was released by the court. Saradha group chief Sudipto Sen and his associate Debjani Mukherjee were remanded in judicial custody till January 28.
