KOLKATA With CBI moving the Calcutta High court seeking cancellation of bail granted to state transport minister Madan Mitra by a lower court, the minister yet again got himself admitted at a private hospital in south Kolkata. At the wee hours today, he reached the hospital complaining acute chest pain.


The hospital authorities later in a statement said that Mitra complained of “chest discomfort” and “sweating” since 4 amtoday. The cardiologists who attended him prescribed an “urgent hospitalization” suspecting “acute coronary syndrome” (ACS). Mitra was admitted for “further monitoring and management”, stated the hospital authority.


Significantly, Mitra had been admitted in the state run hospital for last ten months complaining “restlessness, uneasiness and lack of sleep” till he was granted bail. And he spent only a month in the prison. He was sent to the judicial custody on December 19, 2014. Since then, barring three to four weeks, Mitra had stayed in the hospital.


However, in 24 hours of his bail being approved by the court, Mitra left the hospital with a ‘fit’ certificate from the hospital authorities. Interestingly, he again started feeling “uncomfortable” since today morning and reached a private hospital .He was immediately admitted.
