Saradha chit fund fiasco: Cong questions scope of probe panel

Congress today questioned the scope of the commission set up by the West Bengal government to probe the collapse of chit fund company Saradha Group.

KOLKATA: Congress today questioned the scope of the commission set up by the West Bengal government to probe the collapse of chit fund company Saradha Group.

"It seems to be an another commission just like 40-50 others. There is no mention or information about its scope... We will not accept this commission unless we know its detailed scope and ambit," WBPCC chief Pradip Bhattacharya said at a protest rally here.

He also alleged there were attacks on Congress workers across the state after the mobbing of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Finance minister Amit Mitra in Delhi on April 9 by CPI(M) and SFI activists to protest the death of one of their colleagues in Kolkata earlier this month.
