Sankararaman murder case hearing deferred
A court here today deferred to October 22 the hearing in the Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati is the main accused.

PUDUCHERRY: A court here today deferred to October 22 the hearing in the Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati is the main accused.
When the case came up for hearing before Principal District Sessions Judge D Krishnaraja, only 10 out of 24 accused were present.
Those absent included Jayendra Saraswati and his junior seer Vijayendra Saraswati.
The case pertains to the death of Sankararaman, manager of Kanchipuram Varadarajaperumal temple, on September 3, 2004.
Meanwhile, a special leave petition filed by the defence in the Supreme Court questioning the continuance of the Special Public Prosecutor of Tamil Nadu in the case being heard in Union Territory of Puducherry, is still pending.
