Sankararaman case deferred to Sep 21
Hearing in the Sankararaman murder case, involving Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi, deferred to September 21.

PUDUCHERRY: Hearing in the Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswathi and his junior Vijayendra Saraswathi are the main accused, was on Friday deferred to September 21.
Only seven of the 24 accused were present when the case came up for hearing before Principal Sessions Judge D Krishnaraja.
The Kanchi seers were not present in the court. The seers and others have been charged with criminal conspiracy and misleading the court by giving false information.
Sankararaman, the Managing Trustee of Varadaraja Perumal temple at Kancheepuram, was found dead on September 3, 2004.
Meanwhile, a special leave petition filed by the Kanchi seer objecting to the appearance of the special Public prosecutor of Tamil Nadu government in the case in Puducherry is pending before the Supreme Court.
