Sanjay Dutt could head to jail
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is out on bail from a six-year sentence for illegal arms possession, could be back in jail on Monday.
The Supreme Court had agreed to his conditional release in August after the anti-terror court in Mumbai that jailed him failed to provide the actor with a copy of its judgement.
The actor was present in the court on Saturday in response to summons issued against him but did not receive his copy as it was not ready yet.
The court, meanwhile, handed over copies of the judgement which runs into 4,340 pages to 13 convicts, including 10 who have been sentenced to death.
The Supreme Court had granted him bail on August 20 till the time he gets a copy of the judgement.
Dutt, convicted for possessing arms that came as part of contraband smuggled in by conspirators of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, was sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment on July 31.
He had spent a few weeks in Pune's Yerawada jail before being granted interim bail by the apex court.
