Sangh parivar outfits to enforce bandh on Dec 25
Orissa govt is contemplating reimposition of curfew and prohibitory orders in sensitive pockets of strife-torn Kandhamal district before Dec 25.
The government's preparedness on the matter was decided at a meeting chaired by Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), southern division, Satyabrat Sahu.
Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Sradhanjali Samiti (SLSSS), a newly formed body of the sangh parivar, had earlier served ultimatum to the state government to face another Orissa bandh on December 25 if it failed to arrest killers and conspirators in Saraswati's murder by December 15.
+We are still firm on our stand. We will give Orissa bandh call in case of failure of the investigating officials in nabbing the killers and conspirators by December 15+, SLSSS president Ratnakar Chaini said in a statement.
Though Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and a Central ministerial team headed by Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar denounced the sangh parivar's proposed bandh on the festival day of the minority communty, SLSSS justified its action stating it as +logical+ and +constitutional+.
The police which had so far arrested three persons in connection with Saraswati's killing, however, failed to succeed in nabbing others though it suspected involvement of more than a dozen persons in the murder, he alleged
+It seems deliberate on part of crime branch not to arrest swamiji killers even as it nabbed 10 persons in the alleged nun rape case+, he pointed out.
