Sambit Patra says Jantar Mantar protest does not reflect India's mood
BJP national spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra on Saturday criticised the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, calling it an attempt to create unrest. He said the protests did not reflect the mood of the country, which, according to him, remained peaceful and continued to move forward under good governance.

“Jantar Mantar's story is not India's story. What is happening at Jantar Mantar, what you can see on TV and a few social media handles, is not India's story. India is calm and going ahead under good governance," Patra said.

Taking aim at the protesters, Patra accused what he called “anarchist forces” of trying to disrupt peace in parts of Delhi. He claimed their efforts had failed to make any impact.

“The flop show of anarchist elements has completely collapsed,” he said.

Patra further alleged that the protesters had tried to bring the national capital to a standstill and provoke incidents of arson and violence.

“But today, 'loktantra' has triumphed over 'bheedtantra',” he said, suggesting that democracy had prevailed over mob rule.

Patra also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of attempting to draw the President of India into the alleged unrest.

“The anarchist Rahul Gandhi tried to pull the President of India to the anarchism which he is trying his best to conduct on the streets of India,” Patra said.

Reacting to Opposition leaders' social media posts on Starlink, Patra called the political tussle a “fight of Modi vs Mir Jafar”, accusing the Opposition of putting its political ambitions ahead of the country's interests.

“These are people who can mortgage even the country for power,” he said.

Patra alleged that Opposition leaders wanted to come to power without putting in the effort to contest and win elections, even if it meant compromising national interests.

“They want to be the PM without working hard, even if they have to mortgage the country for it. Mir Jafar is ready to adopt double standards. This is a fight of Modi vs Mir Jafar,” Patra said.
