Police said the bodies of both brothers were found hanging: The younger brother's body was discovered on June 11, and the elder brother, Sushil's body, was found on July 3.
Police said the accused were booked on charges of issuing threats and orchestrating the murder of the brothers in a village under the Handia police station area in the district's Ganga Nagar zone.

DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said on Friday that the deceased's brother, Sunil alias Dara, stated in his complaint that his elder brother, Santosh, had committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on June 11. Police said the complaint accuses five people of issuing threats and orchestrating the murder.

Gunawat said based on the complaint, a case was registered at the Handia police station on Friday under relevant sections of the BNS. He said further legal action will be taken based on the deceased's post-mortem report and other evidence.
