A local Samajwadi Party leader was shot at allegedly by three bike-borne miscreants on Nandgaon road in Chhata town in the district, police said today.

MATHURA: A local Samajwadi Party leader was shot at allegedly by three bike-borne miscreants on Nandgaon road in Chhata town in the district, police said today.

The incident took place last evening when the victim Mahavir Singh Yaduvanshi, SP president of Chhata legislative area, was repairing his car at a motor garage on Nandgoan road, Circle Officer of Chhata Atul Kumar Srivastava said.

Yaduvanshi is seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital in Agra, he said, adding, his condition is stated to be critical.

Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, he said.
