Samajwadi Party govt in UP doing appeasement politics: BJP
NEW DELHI: Accusing Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh of doing "appeasement politics", BJP today dared Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to act against the accused in various crimes and asked Mulayam Singh Yadav to stop making accusations and playing communal politics.

"We demand that all criminals moving freely should be arrested and strong action taken against them. This is not the time to make accusations.

"Shun the appeasement politics and take action against the accused in various crimes. It is unfortunate that the Uttar Pradesh government is acting one-sided, due to which it has lost public support. The public has lost faith in the Akhilesh Yadav government," BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

Attacking the SP supremo, he said Mulayam Singh Yadav was trying to communalise the situation instead of acting against the accused who were moving around freely leading to deterioration of law and order situation in the state.

"Don't convert law and order situation into a communal issue involving Hindus and Muslims and convert it into vote bank politics," he said.

The BJP leader said both Mulayam and Akhilesh Yadav were trying to communalise the situation to hide their own failures in tackling law and order.

"It is very unfortunate that the SP leaders are trying to politicise and communalise the situation," he said, adding that "if they have guts, why do they not act against those guilty of various crimes and are adding fuel to fire".

Sharma alleged that the Akhilesh Yadav government is committing the same mistake as it did during the Muzaffarnagar riots by not handling the law and order situation sternly and is working "one-sided without maintaining balance".

"That is why there is anger among the people, who have lost confidence in the Samajwadi Party government. When public loses faith in the government .... it has no right to stay in power," he said.

Sharma said Chief Minister himself is not aware of the meat export ban in the country, while his Minister Azam Khan is making unfortunate statements and no action is taken against him.

Earlier in the day, the SP chief alleged at a press conference that "The Dadri incident was a pre-planned conspiracy...you will come to know the names. According to the information I have gathered, three persons related to a particular party are behind the incident."

Yadav also claimed that the three persons were also behind the 2013 communal riots in Muzaffarnagar in which 62 people were killed.
