Samajwadi Party confused over rapidly changing designations

While the SP office in Lucknow has nameplates of both Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav outside their respective rooms, they carry wrong designations if one goes by the decisions taken by Akhilesh Yadav. Mulayam’s nameplate says he is national president of the party while Shivpal’s nameplate says he is a Cabinet Minister in the UP government.



Watching the games
The build-up of the race to head Madhya Pradesh Congress was evident at AICC conclave. When Kamal Nath took the mike, his backers in the gallery let out a loud cheer. That made Jyotiraditya Scindia campers rush to do the same. Digvijaya Singh, the tilting factor in MP Congress, was seen watching from podium the two shows with a barely concealed smile.



Sending a message
The fact that Haryana PCC chief Ashok Tanwar and ex-CM BS Hooda were not selected to speak at AICC meet, was seen as leadership’s way of disapproving the typical ugly spat between the two warring campers. Instead, senior leader from Haryana, Kumari Selja who is opposed to both Hooda and Tanwar, was fielded to speak and, thus, deliver a loaded message.



Swachh stories in schools
After the iconic Amar Chitra Katha printed Swachh Bharat Mission stories, the Urban Development Ministry has now embarked on a new exercise — how to popularise these comics. The ministry has found an obvious solution. It is now asking Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya schools to distribute copies to popularise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cleanliness message.
