Samajwadi Party, BJP have tacit understanding: BSP

LUCKNOW: Charging ruling Samajwadi Party with being hand in glove with BJP in spoiling communal amity in Uttar Pradesh, Opposition BSP today blamed the state government for not collecting the forensic report in the Dadri lynching case as it will "expose" these parties.

"The state police is not collecting the forensic report on the Dadri lynching to ascertain whether it was beef or mutton as it will further expose these parties," senior BSP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Swami Prasad Maurya said here.

"BSP has always stated that these parties are together out to damage communal brotherhood...before 2014 Lok Sabha elections there were riots and it will be seen again with the 2017 UP assembly polls approaching," he said.

"Perhaps, it is because of this that the government is not collecting the forensic report," he said as to why the police was not collecting the report on the meat samples recovered from the house of Mohammed Ikhlaq, who was lynched in Bisara village on September 28 following rumours of cow slaughter.

The report is said to be gathering dust at a government laboratory in Mathura.

To a question on the arrival of "shilas" (stone slabs) in Ayodhya, he branded as "desi atankwadi" (homegrown terrorists) those initiating the process of bringing stones despite the issue pending before the Supreme Court.

"The SP government which kept sleeping as trucks bringing stones arrived in Ayodhya is reponsible for it...it again proves the tacit understanding between SP and BJP," he said, adding had the SP government respected the apex court there was no scope of even a brick reaching there.
On reports of rift within Samajwadi Party, Maurya said, "the party is a victim of inner fights with four to five Chief Ministers pulling and running it as per their wishes...this has come to the fore in the Saifai mahotsav."

His reference was to the absence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav from the annual family fiesta at the native place of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav. Akhilesh is apparently "upset" with expulsion of two of his close aides from the party.

"The farewell of the party (SP) is a foregone conclusion as people have decided to teach them a lesson and this inner fight will make the task easier," Maurya said.

The BSP leader said over 8 lakh employees and officers of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes were feeling discriminated against by the UP government which, he said, has resorted to demotions in an "arbitrary manner" on the pretext of following apex court order on reservation in promotions.

"The anti-Dalit government has demoted SC/ST employees who had got promotions on merit," Maurya said, adding the onus will be on the state government if these employees come out on the streets in protest against "this feudal attitude and discrimination".

On denial of permission to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen led by Asaduddin Owaisi to hold a programme in the state, Maurya said the SP supremo considers himself "Mulla Mulayam" and cannot tolerate any other Muslim leader on his turf.

"Though they (SP) claim to be pro-Muslims, they actually are enemies of Muslims," he added.
