Sam Manekshaw seriously ill: Sources

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who led India to victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, is seriously ill, military hospital sources said.

WELLINGTON: Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who led India to victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, is seriously ill, military hospital sources said on Thursday.

94-year-old Manekshaw, the country's first Field Marshal, who has been undergoing treatment in the hospital here for the last few months, slipped into coma last evening, the sources said.

Though there is no official word, the hospital sources said his condition is critical.
