Khurshid today endorsed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's opinion that the Prime Minister of the country should have secular credentials.

BHOPAL: Union law Minister Salman Khurshid today endorsed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's opinion that the Prime Minister of the country should have secular credentials.

"I don't want to comment on the internal matters of any political party but persons occupying higher posts in the country should have the courage to take along everyone with vigour and conviction," Khurshid told reporters after the All India State Wakf Board conference, while responding to a query on Bihar Chief Minister's opinion on the issue of Prime Ministerial candidate.

To a poser on Gujarat, he said that he was not satisfied as justice was not rendered to a large number of people in the state and that even the people in BJP had complaints with him (Chief Minister Narendra Modi).

On Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee's (MPCC) demand that he should not attend the Wakf conference in view of senior Congress leader and state Wakf Board Chairman Gufran-e-Azam's criticism of the Congress leadership, he said that he was not aware of it.

Khurshid also said that he knows that Azam is a Congressman to the core.

Azam had severly criticised the Congress leadership in Madhya Pradesh and termed it as "deaf and dumb" following which MPCC had demanded the AICC to expel him from the party.
