Sajjan Kumar to move Supreme Court challenging Delhi High Court verdict
Sajjan Kumar was accused of conspiracy to commit murder in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The Central Bureau of Investigation had challenged trial court's acquittal of Sajjan Kumar.

Sajjan Kumar was accused of conspiracy to commit murder in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The Central Bureau of Investigation had challenged trial court's acquittal of Sajjan Kumar. At least 3,000 people were killed when mobs led by Congress leaders targeted Sikhs after the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards
Earlier in the day, a bench of Justices S Muralidhar and Vinod Goel convicted Kumar for criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity and acts against communal harmony. The probe was carried out by the CBI which re-opened the case on the recommendation of Nanavati Commission in 2005.

— ANI (@ANI) 1545044868000Besides Sajjan Kumar, Captain Bhagmal, Girdhari Lal and former Congress councillor Balwan Khokhar have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Kishan Khokkar and former legislator Mahender Yadav have been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
