Sahil brought the drugs
Additional DCP Manish Aggarwal told reporters here that the interrogation of Sahil was at a very "preliminary" stage.
Additional DCP Manish Aggarwal told reporters here that the interrogation of Sahil was at a very “preliminary” stage. “He was very much there and he had got the drugs for them. That is what he has disclosed,” Aggarwal said. However, he said, the police could not take Rahul’s statement as he was declared “unfit” by Apollo Hospital, where he was admitted in the wee hours of Friday.
Brought from Srinagar, where he was arrested last night, Sahil, 21-year-old son of a Kashmiri businessman, was interrogated by Delhi Police for nearly four hours on Sunday, in connection with the mysterious ailment of Rahul and death of Moitra.
He was later produced before a local court which remanded him to police custody till June 12. Aggarwal said, though the hospital authorities have been telling the media that Rahul was conscious and talking comfortably, when the police approached them, they declared the patient “unfit” to give any statement.
Asked if the police will file a case against Rahul, the Additional DCP said “unless we are able to question him, we will not be able to ascertain what transpired” at the party at Mahajan’s residence.
He said the interrogation of persons detained by the police in connection with the supply of drugs, was also on. So far, only one person (Sahil) has been arrested in this case, he said.
Asked about the reports of overdose of drugs, which led to Maitra’s death, Aggarwal said “we are not aware of any such thing. From the reports we have received, the cause of death is unclear.” “The cause of his death will be clear only when the viscera report comes,” he said.
