Sadananda Gowda says son falsely implicated in rape case
KOCHI: Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, against whose son Karnataka Police registered a case of rape, today said his son has been "falsely implicated" in the matter.

"Law will take its own course. I will not interfere in the matter", he said when asked about the complaint filed against his son Karthik by a small-time Kannada model and actress yesterday.

"It is a personal matter. It is a falsely implicated complaint. As a Minister I am here", Gowda told reporters.

The woman had yesterday claimed that she is married to the minister's son. The claim came on a day when Karthik got engaged to another woman at a ceremony at Kushalnagar in Kodagu District yesterday.

Bangalore Police commissioner M N Reddi had stated that "the woman had filed the complaint in RT Nagar Police Station against Karthik Gowda, Sadananda Gowda's son, for allegedly raping and cheating her".

A case has been lodged against Karthik under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 420 (cheating), Reddi had said.
