SAD-INLD alliance a 'political perversion': Amarinder Singh
CHANDIGARH: Senior Congress leader Amarinder Singh today said SAD's alliance with Indian National Lok Dal in Haryana while sharing power with BJP in Punjab not only "betrays their moral bankruptcy but also amounts to political perversion".

Reacting to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Chief Minister son Sukhbir Badal's assertion that INLD and Akalis will form the government in Haryana after the upcoming assembly polls in that state, Amarinder dared them to clarify their stand on various inter-state issues with Haryana, like the transfer of Chandigarh and the sharing of river waters before leading the INLD-SAD campaign there.

The Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha observed that the father-son duo "did not bother to do the formality (of taking approval from the party)" before announcing the decision to align with INLD in Haryana.

"They owe an explanation to the people of Punjab as to how can they be allies of a party in Punjab while opposing the same party in the immediate neighbourhood of Haryana," he said. SAD and INLD are jointly fighting the Haryana assembly polls. SAD is a key NDA ally and runs the alliance government in Punjab with BJP.
