AAP also hit out the Parkash Singh Badal government for lodging "false cases" against its workers and lawmakers, which it said was to prevent the party's success in the upcoming Assembly polls in the state.
"The truth is out. The accused (Vijay Kumar) has confessed that he was coerced by police into levelling allegations against Yadav. If BJP has shame then it should apologise. Badals have withdrawn case against Captain (Amrinder Singh) but leveled false charges against AAP leaders," party's Punjab in-charge Sanjay Singh said.
In a video released by the party, in which Kumar is purportedly seen telling reporters that he was "threatened" by the police that charges of murder and attempt to murder will be slapped against him, following which he alleged the Mehrauli MLA's involvement.
"I did (naming Yadav) under police pressure," Kumar is heard saying in the video.
Earlier in July, Yadav was granted bail by a local court in Sangrur in connection with the alleged sacrilege incident in Malerkotla on June 24.
