Congress leader Sachin Pilot detained amid Rahul Gandhi protests

The police have reportedly detained Congress leader Sachin Pilot when he was trying to reach All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi on June 15.

Pilot is the fifth prominent leader to be detained following Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Congress leaders Randeep Surjewala, K C Venugopal and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Congress senior leader Ajay Maken had accused the Delhi police of storming the party's headquarters as he shared a video as visual proof of police personnel entering the AICC headquarters at 24, Akbar Road.


The party demanded that an FIR for "criminal trespass" be registered, the erring police personnel be suspended and disciplinary action initiated against them.

"In an act of absolute goondaism perpetuated by the Delhi Police at the instance of the Modi government, the police today forcibly entered the national headquarters of the Congress here and beat up party workers and leaders. This is patently criminal trespass. The goondaism of Delhi Police and Modi government has reached its zenith," Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala told reporters.
