New Delhi: A nine-judge bench led by CJI SA Bobde on Monday clarified that for the time being it would not examine the Sabarimala review after senior advocate Fali S Nariman objected to its propriety as the bench’s aim was to go into larger issues related to religious practices and a reference was not the same as review of the case.

The Constitution Bench said that it would focus on the common ground raised in many petitions such as women into mosques, practice of female genital mutilation among Dawoodi Bohras and refusal of the Parsi community to allow women who marry outside the community to enter their fire temples.
