Sabarimala accident: Navy dispatches emergency medical team

The Southern Naval Command on Saturday said it has dispatched an emergency medical team to the accident site at Pulamedu in vandiperiyar in Idukki district where at least 102 sabarimala pilgrims were killed in a stampede yesterday.

KOCHI: The Southern Naval Command on Saturday said it has dispatched an emergency medical team to the accident site at Pulamedu in vandiperiyar in Idukki district where at least 102 sabarimala pilgrims were killed in a stampede yesterday.

The Navy helicopter carrying the medical team is also carrying emergency medical supplies to deal with the mishap there, Naval press release said.

Another helicopter was launched early today to Kannur to take kearla Chief Minister, V S Achutanandan to the accident spot.
