SAARC Home Ministers meet in Pakistan postponed
The meeting of the Home Ministers of the SAARC countries, scheduled to be held here from November 24 to 27, has been postponed "on the request of a member country," the Pakistan government said today.
The meeting of the SAARC Home and Interior Ministers was expected to discuss ways to deal with the menace of terrorism in the region. It was to be preceded with by meetings of the eight-nation grouping's Drugs Offences Monitoring Desk, Terrorist Offences Monitoring Desk and Immigration Authorities.
"The Third Meeting of the SAARC Interior/Home Ministers and its preceding Meetings which were scheduled to be held on 24-27 November 2008 in Islamabad have been postponed on the request of a member country," foreign office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq told reporters here.
He said the meetings will be rescheduled in the first quarter of 2009 on dates convenient to all members.
