Rural development continues to constitute a challenge for the India in the post-independent era, former president Dr A P J Kalam said on Wednesday.

PUNE: Rural development continues to constitute a challenge for the India in the post-independent era, former president Dr A P J Kalam said on Wednesday.
Dr Kalam who was here to confer the 'Punyabhushan award' on senior scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, said Pune which was in the forefront of the country's freedom struggle, represented the intellectual heritage of India.
This great city should continue to play its role in making India a super power, he added.
