'Run for unity' likely to be flagged off by PM Narendra Modi
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off a 'run for unity' on October 31 as part of tribute to country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary.

The day, observed as ' Ekta Divas', will begin with paying tribute to the statute of Sardar at Patel Chowk, located on the Parliament Street here, by the top leadership of the government.

The function will be followed by the 'run for unity' that will start from Vijay Chowk to India gate. The Prime Minister is expected to flag off the run, a Home Ministry official said.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today chaired a meeting and reviewed the preparation of the events along with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and senior officials of different government ministries and departments.
