Ruling party, opposition two pillars of democracy: Yogi Adityanath
In his first speech in the state Assembly, Adityanath asks MLAs to maintain country’s democratic values and appeals that members should give results as per people’s expectations.

Asking MLAs to maintain the country’s democratic values, he appealed that members should deliver results as per people’s expectations. He said the ruling party and the opposition were two pillars of the democracy.
Congratulating Hriday Narayan Dikshit for being elected as the new Speaker of the assembly, Adityanath recalled Dikshit’s contribution towards the betterment of the society. Later in the day, the chief minister held a meeting with the newlyelected BJP MLAs and asked them to focus on development works. “He told MLAs to live a simple life. He asked them to stay away from the VIP culture,” an MLA said.
According to another MLA present at the meeting, Adityanath suggested that MLAs should avoid using hooters in their vehicles. “CM Yogi does not want his MLAs to misuse their position. He is very careful about the image of his government,” the MLA said.
Chief minister Adityanath has instructed BJP MLAs to spend maximum time in their constituency. He assured them that he would be always accessible. “His message for us was that we should monitor the development works in our constituencies,” the MLA added.
