Rujira, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee's wife, quizzed by ED for 4 hours

A five-member team from New Delhi interrogated Narula and the whole interrogation process has been video-graphed, people in the know told ET. Some of her financial transactions are in ED radar, these people said.

Bengal coal scam: TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee's wife Rujira reaches ED office
Rujira Narula, the wife of Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, was interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kolkata for nearly four hours on Thursday in connection with a coal pilferage case.

A five-member team from New Delhi interrogated Narula and the whole interrogation process has been video-graphed, people in the know told ET. Some of her financial transactions are in ED radar, these people said.

Narula was questioned on June 23 last year as well. On Thursday, she was accompanied by her advocate to the ED office.


Abhishek Banerjee, Narula's husband, is a nephew of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

ED Summons Abhishek again
ED Later in the day, ED served a notice to Abhishek Banerjee, summoning him to appear before its sleuths on June 13 in connection with the central agency's probe into the primary school jobs scam in West Bengal. One ED official went to Banerjee's residence, 'Santiniketan', on Harish Mukherjee Road in the southern part of Kolkata, to serve the summons, he said.
