Ruchika’s family welcomes move
Rathore likely to be arrested soon, possibly as early as Wednesday, on the basis of two complaints filed by Ruchika's father and brother.

As many as seven non-bailable sections were slapped against Rathore, indicating the police intent of arresting him. These include sections 307 (attempt to murder), 195A (threatening or inducing any person to give false evidence), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating ), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) filed by Ashu. Meanwhile, the CBI indicated that new cases could be made out against him on basis of disclosures made by former joint director R M Singh. Singh has said that Rathore tried to influence him and expressed his willingness to testify.
The news of imminent action against Rathore sparked off impromptu celebrations at the Panchkula residence of Anand Prakash, a family friend of the Girhotras, who stood by them through the years. Rathore’s house, also in Panchkula , wore a deserted look with neighbours saying that he may be holed up inside.
