While chanting slogans like “santo ka ye dharmadesh, kanun banao ya adhyadesh” and “samvidhan se bane, vidhan se bane” in their speeches at the Dharma Sabha organised by the VHP on Sunday, saints hoped that all hurdles in the way of the construction of the Ram temple would be removed soon.

Apart from seers, the event witnessed a gathering of a massive crowd, particularly the youth who came from different regions of UP, such as Bundelkhand and eastern UP.

Representing the RSS at the event, sah sarkaryavah Krishna Gopal assured the seers that the organisation would not take rest till the temple is constructed in Ayodhya.

Incidentally, the banners which were put up at the venue displayed the RSS’ long association with the Ram temple movement. A prominent saint, Swami Parmanandji, said he trusted the RSS and VHP. “I am a witness to the shilapujan, bhoomi pujan and the (Babri Masjid) demolition. I hope I will soon see the beginning of the construction of the Ram temple.”

Another seer, Ram Bhadracharya, claimed the Centre might take a big decision on this issue in the second half of December. Ramdasji of Nirmohi Akhara said it now seemed that the dates for the construction of the temple would be announced early next year, during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.

Nritya Gopaldasji, president of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, said the people’s sentiment was attached with the construction of the temple. “We respect the court. I hope PM Modi and CM Yogi will pave the way for the construction of the temple.”

Many participants who were reaching the venue in different groups were seen shouting “jan jan ki yehi pukar, pahle mandir, phir sarkar” - a slogan coined by Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Old slogans like “Ram Lalla ham aayenge, mandir wahi banayenge”, “bachcha bachcha Ramka, janmabhoomi ke kam ka”, and “Jai Shri Ram”, were also heard in the city bylanes.
