RSS’ Seshadri Chari slams Alwar incident
MUMBAI: Seshadri Chari, a veteran swayamsevak and BJP National Executive member, has slammed the alleged lynching of a Muslim man in Alwar (Rajasthan) by cow vigilantes.

He called MoS for parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi’s statement that such attack didn’t happen “absolutely embarrassing”.

“Cow is a very respectable animal and I don’t want a single abattoir in the country, but that doesn’t mean you bash up people (transporting cows). This is completely unacceptable.

Nobody can take law in their own hands,” Chari told ET.

Chari said this was not just his view but also BJP’s. “The party too doesn’t support it,” said Chari.

He, however, faulted news channels for “playing up” the Alwar incident while “neglecting to highlight” ex-Union minister Farooq Abdullah’s statement that “stone-pelters in J&K were throwing stones for the nation”.

“Certain channels have been running the Alwar incident 24/7 because they have an agenda. I want to ask as to why many of them failed to devote the same air time to Farooq Abdullah’s statement on the stonepelters.

Isn’t Abdullah’s statement serious and damaging enough for the country? The channels did not do it because they have a certain bias and it is seen in their news reports,” claimed the BJP leader.
