Instead of Nagpur, the meeting will be held in Bengaluru, and only 550 representatives from the RSS, instead of the usual 1,200, will participate in it. The venue has been shifted keeping in mind the rising Covid cases in Maharashtra, a senior official in the RSS said.
The most important agenda of the meeting is likely to be the election of the RSS general secretary – the Sangh sarkaryavah. Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi has held the position for almost 12 years now and there is a possibility that the Sangh might even elect someone to take that responsibility. It may even appoint more people to handle work related to communication and publicity.
Meanwhile, an official said national issues related to agriculture and farmers, 75 years of Independence, and the Ram temple donation drive will be discussed. The meeting will also look at putting in place a plan to expand the Sangh's coordination with social service institutions in the country. Apart from increasing the party's foothold in states, including West Bengal and Kerala, the leaders might even discuss the consequences of the recent decision made by the Haryana government to provide 75% reservation in the private sector to job-seekers from the state.
