The RSS leaders said Munde had reached out to every household to make BJP a popular party and was entrusted with a bigger role to serve the country after he was made a Union minister.

NEW DELHI: Top RSS leaders today paid rich tributes to Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde while condoling his untimely demise.

Munde died of multiple internal injuries suffered in a road accident in central Delhi early this morning.

In a condolence message, top RSS leaders Mohan Bhagwat, Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Suresh Soni said Munde was a 'Swayamsevak' from his student days and rose to become a popular leader of national repute after serving the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the BJP.

The RSS leaders said Munde had reached out to every household to make BJP a popular party and was entrusted with a bigger role to serve the country after he was made a Union minister in the NDA government.

The RSS leaders said though they had big expectations from Munde, but it was not destined like that.
