RSS conclave 2nd day: Top ministers present their progress report
NEW DELHI: Top BJP leaders — Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari and others — made a beeline for the RSS conclave for the second day where issues concerning security, culture and education were discussed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the concluding session on Friday.

“RSS samanvay baithak today (Thursday) discussed the national security scenario, both internal & external, and issues related to education and culture,” All India RSS Prachar Pramukh Manmohan Vaidya said after the second day of deliberations.

Singh is believed to have apprised the gathering about the prevailing security situation in Jammu & Kashmir and the northeast. Defence minister Manohar Parrikar is believed to have informed the Sangh leadership about the external security challenges. HRD minister Smriti Irani also joined the deliberations on Thursday. She gave her perspective on the initiatives taken by her ministry on the issues being pursued by the Sangh.

Tribal affairs minister Jual Oram indicated the meeting might have discussed issues concerning tribals.
