Taking a dig at the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, he criticized the political and criminal nexus that attempted to shield the culprits.
"In the Kolkata doctor's rape case, some tried to protect the criminals," Bhagwat said, adding, "This poisonous culture is ruining us."
During his speech, Bhagwat touched upon a variety of national and international concerns, reflecting on the socio-political climate.
"Friendships between individuals and families cutting across castes and religions are needed for social harmony and unity," he said.
The RSS chief also reiterated that a nation's greatness is defined by the character of its people. "A country becomes great due to the national character of its people," Bhagwat said.
He praised India's growing global stature, saying, "Everyone feels Bharat has become stronger and more respected in the world with enhanced credibility in the past few years."
Addressing the geopolitical situation, Bhagwat expressed concern over the narrative being spread in Bangladesh that portrays India as a threat.
He warned of the dangers posed by what he termed the "tyrannical fundamentalist" nature in Bangladesh, which he said threatens minorities, including Hindus.
"The sword of danger hangs over the heads of minorities," he remarked.
