RSS calls for creating universally acceptable education model
NAGPUR: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for creating a new education model acceptable to all, drawing from India's rich ancient past when the country was a great centre of learning.

People are not happy with the education system and there is a worldwide view that the ways of teaching and learning require a comprehensive change, Bhagwat said addressing a gathering of academicians here last night.

"They are all looking towards India to provide a new direction as in ancient times the country was the greatest centre of learning," he said.

"We held leadership position for centuries and now have to regain it," the RSS chief said.

Over 250 eminent academicians and educationists from all over the country yesterday gathered for a two-day conference on 'Nationalist Education: Concept and Structure,' organised at Reshimbagg premises of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) here by Ahmedabad-based Punarotthan Vidyapeeth (Revival University).

Senior RSS functionary Suresh Soni also addressed the conference yesterday.
