RSS attacks PM on helping turbulent US economy, Nuke-deal

The Rashtriya Swayayamsewak Sangh criticised the PM for helping US economy in crisis and N-deal with the country.

NAGPUR: The Rashtriya Swayayamsewak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday severely criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for helping American economy in its crisis and nuclear deal with the country.

Addressing the annual Vijayadashmi function at the Reshimbagh ground here, RSS chief K C Sudarshan said that the Prime Minister during his just concluded visit to the US was moved by the crisis and announced a package to the tune of Rs 56,000 crores under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF).

On the other hand, the Reserve Bank of India will issue Market Stabilisation Scheme (MSS) bonds of the same value, thus the proceeds from the sale of bonds will deposit the same amount of Rs 58,000 crore in RBI.

The RBI must invest this amount somewhere and since the Prime Minister is to help the American economy in ITS crisis, the RBI following current practice will invest the said amount in US teasury bills, he said.

Elaberating his point, Sudarshan said that RBI will transfer long-term loans to other banks. India will end up in forgoing even the interest on this sum of USD 12.5 billion, which it is providing to support the American economy.

On the nuclear deal, the RSS chief reiterated its stand saying that India has lost the right of nuclear test in case India opts for nuclear test. It will face the most serious consequences including immediate cut of nuclear fuel and its technology support and supply of atomic reactors.
