NEW DELHI: An amount of Rs 91.10 lakh was spent towards preparing dossier to nominate Delhi as a UNESCO World Heritage City, which the Government has asked to postpone, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Reply to a question on the issue in Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma said that an amount of Rs 91.10 lakh was spent on preparation of nomination dossier, which was funded by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.

" Government of India has not withdrawn the nomination of Delhi as a UNESCO World Heritage City, but has only requested the UNESCO Secretariat for postponement of the consideration of the nomination," he said.
