Rs 50 crore central funds disbursed in 4 naxal-hit Maharashtra districts
MUMBAI: Maharashtra has received Rs 50 crore out of the total Rs 120 crore additional central assistance extended to four naxal infested districts of Gadchiroli, Gondia, Chandrapur and Bhandara for year 2013-2014 and 2014-15.

The amount of Rs 40 crore was the first installment which included Rs 10 crore to each of the four districts for the year 2013-14. It was disbursed to all the four districts on January eight this year.

In March 2014, the second installment of Rs 10 crore was released to Gondia district by the Centre and deposited in the state's consolidated fund.

As per a Government Resolution (GR) of May 9 , the amount of Rs 10 crore has been disbursed to the Gondia District Collector.

The funds are being utilised for implementation of central schemes and developmental projects.
