MUMBAI: Under the Vidarbha package, Rs 4.6 crore have been sanctioned for implementing agriculture expansion programme in six districts of Vidarbha.
The region is dogged by farmers' suicide for the past few years.
The fund will be used for the agriculture expansion programmes aid scheme, which was introduced last year. The districts of Buldhana, Washim, Akola, Amaravati, Yeotmal and Vardha would be its beneficiaries, an official release said said here today.
Centre will provide Rs 3.64 crore while balance amount of Rs 40.61 lakh will come from the state government, it added.
