The Delhi government today said it had spent Rs 2,587 crore on CWG-related projects and identified 50 other projects unrelated to the event on which it incurred an expenditure of Rs 9,879 crore.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government today said it had spent Rs 2,587 crore on CWG-related projects and identified 50 other projects unrelated to the event on which it incurred an expenditure of Rs 9,879 crore.

Replying to a question in the assembly, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said her government spent a total of Rs 12,463.60 crore out of total estimated cost of Rs 14,830.06 crore and works on some of the projects are yet to be completed.

She said works have not been fully completed in seven projects out of the 25 CWG projects.

Dikshit identified 50 projects, taken up by the government to improve infrastructure ahead of the Games, as city improvement projects and out of them works on as many as 22 projects have not been completed yet.

Out of the CWG projects, she said, 80 per cent works have been completed in Shivaji stadium while 99 per cent works each have been finished in Millennium bus depot and Raj Ghat bus parking.

Dikshit said 92 per cent works have been completed in the Rs 334 crore UP Link road. Similarly 98 per cent works each have been completed by PWD and MCD in their street scapping projects.

Of the city improvement projects, only 60 per cent works have been completed on the road over bridge on Road No 68 in East Delhi while only 79 per cent works were completed on the road under bridge projects on Road No 58-64.

She said PWD could be able to complete only 75 per cent works in its Rs 72 crore road signages project.

Dikshit said Rs 2,800 crore was received as central assistance while another assistance of Rs 546 crore was received under JNNURM scheme.

As probe into alleged the Games mess gained momentum, Delhi Government last month had delinked the 50 projects now identified as "city improvement projects" from CWG.

The Government had even written to CAG not to examine the "city improvement projects" but the auditor turned down the request.
