Royal Bengal Tiger found dead Valmini Tiger Reserve

A Royal Bengal Tiger was found dead in the Valmini Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district of Bihar.

BAGAHA: A Royal Bengal Tiger was found dead today in the Valmini Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district of Bihar.

During patrolling, forest guards spotted the carcass of a male Royal Bengal Tiger, aged about 14 years, from Banauli forest area of the Tiger Reserve, VTR Field Director R B Singh said.

Singh said that the tiger died last evening presumably after consuming meat of a pig which was poisoned by poachers.

The carcasses of both tiger and pig were sent for post-mortem, the VTR official said.
