Organisational changes are likely in the West Bengal BJP which will be decided at a high-level meeting soon in Delhi in the presence of the party's national President JP Nadda, said people aware of the matter.

Several new faces will be inducted to the state committee and changes will be made to the existing district committees as well, said the people.

"Organisational changes in the state committee are likely, with new faces being inducted, and several district presidents may get changed, subject to final approval of the central leadership," a senior party leader told ET on condition of anonymity.

"The main aim is to address the poll debacle, defections and stop the major problems and chaos prevailing inside the party. At the moment, names of six-seven district presidents, including those in Kolkata North, Burdwan and Malda, are among those who may be changed. Some district presidents may get a place in the state committee," he said. The meeting will be attended by the state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari and Amitabha Chakraborty, West Bengal state general secretary (organisation).
