NEW DELHI: The Centre on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that it had undertaken a preliminary survey of Rohingya camps in Delhi and Haryana. The survey had showed that Rohingyaa were not being discriminated against in any way in terms of health, education and other facilities.

The Centre based its findings on the basis of trips made by officials to nearby Rohingya camps.

Checks were made on the sanitation, housing, medical and other facilities being given to them, a secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare claimed. “… any assessment of facilities extended to the illegal immigrants must take into consideration the pre-existing pressure on resources qua lawful citizens of the country,” it said.
