Former army officer, Bordoloi has worked as minister for sports, youth welfare, relief and rehabilitation.

GUWAHATI: Son of first chief minister of Assam, Gopinath Bordoloi and former congress minister, Robin Borboloi quits congress and joins BJP.

Bordoloi who was denied Congress ticket is assembly polls held recently said, "BJP is doing good work, both at the Centre and the state.”

Bordoloi lambasted Congress for not giving his enough respect. Bordoloi the times three congress MLA first entered Assam assembly in 2001 by defeating former chief minister, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta from Dispur assembly constituency.

Former army officer, Bordoloi has worked as minister for sports, youth welfare, relief and rehabilitation. Bordoloi was again elected to state assembly from Guwahati East assembly constituency in 2006, he was again re-elected in 2011.

Congress has expelled him from membership of the party and terms his action as opportunistic.
