NEW DELHI: Mahesh Nagar, the land facilitator for Robert Vadra, son in law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, failed to turn up before the Enforcement Directorate, prompting the agency to take stern steps.

ED is probing charges of money laundering against Skylight Hospitality, a firm linked to Vadra, for land deals in Rajasthan's Bikaner district.

The agency last week had summoned Nagar and representatives of Vadra’s firm, said officials. While Nagar did not reply to summons, Skylight hospitality sought more time from the agency to firm up their replies.

Government sources said that ED might consider the request from the private firm and give them more time but are planning to take legal action against Nagar.

ED sleuths told ET that they were consulting the legal team on whether to obtain a warrant against Nagar or carry out searches in the case.

However, agency sources said they were treading cautiously as the Parliament session would begin on Monday.
