Robert Vadra calls Subramanian Swamy 'attention seeking', 'deplorable' and 'classist'
NEW DELHI: Robert Vadra has called BJP MP Subramanian Swamy "attention seeking", "deplorable" and "classist."

And so begins another Twitter slugfest that involves Swamy. Except, this time Swamy hasn't initiated it. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra has, on Saturday.

A day after Swamy tweeted that Indian ministers "look like waiters" when they wear western clothes - he was referring to finance minister Arun Jaitley - Vadra has in a Facebook post criticized him for demeaning waiters.

"So is there no dignity in being a Waiter ?!",Vadra's post begins. He adds that "the attention seeking BJP MP Swamy's comment" is "undermining waiters who work hard for a living."

"Making condescending and derogatory remarks about them is deplorable and classist...",Vadra says at the end of his post.

Yesterday, Swami tweeted: "BJP should direct our ministers to wear traditional and modernised Indian clothes while abroad. In coat and tie, they look like waiters".

It was clear he was referring to Jaitley, because the finance minister was the only minister who was abroad. He was in China and was seen wearing a suit and a black tie.

On Saturday, Swamy is on the receiving end, although he has attacked Vadra many times before as being corrupt.

"Vadra made a lot of money, it is called the Vadra school of management, but the dean of that school was (Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh) Hooda. He has to be prosecuted under Prevention of Corruption Act," Swamy said last month, according to ANI.

Swamy went on to allege that Hooda behaved "like a servant" of Vadra's.

"He was the chief minister. For Vadra, he behaved as a servant and not as a chief minister of Haryana. He (Hooda) did everything, he gave land cheap to Vadra. He (Hooda) got the titles changed, the land use changed, and Vadra sold the land to prominent companies," Swamy told ANI in May.
