LUCKNOW: RLD chief Ajit Singh today said that public spat among experienced persons was improper, in the wake of the continuing war of words between Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and SP minister Azam Khan.

"The governor should remember that he is no longer in politics," Singh said when his attention was drawn to the ongoing tussle between the two leaders.

Referring to Azam Khan, he said, "it is not proper to say such absurd things".

Both are experienced people and they should understand that this is not right, he added.

Khan had recently written a four-page letter to Naik in which he had accused the Governor of having a "continued negative" approach against him and making "politically motivated" statements on the vexed Ayodhya issue.

Terming Azam Khan's letter as "inappropriate", Naik had said he would respond to the minister's allegations through Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
