RJD to meet today amidst growing demand for Tejashwi Yadav's resignation
RJD called a meeting of MLAs on Wednesday, a day before the Janata Dal (United) MLAs are set to meet in an attempt to break the impasse.

With the monsoon session of the state assembly due to begin on Friday, the RJD called a meeting of MLAs on Wednesday, a day before the Janata Dal (United) MLAs are set to meet in an attempt to break the impasse.
“All parties hold a meeting with their MLAs before the beginning of monsoon session. But this time it’s an exceptional situation in view of the brewing tension between JD (U) and RJD,” a JD (U) leader told ET on condition of anonymity. Opposition BJP has threatened to disrupt the monsoon session of the assembly. “It will be an embarrassing situation for the CM in case the monsoon session is cut short,” another JD (U) member said.
A meeting of Congress party’s legislators will be held on the day the session begins, a person familiar with the matter said. However, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Choudhari, also a minister in the Bihar government, may meet Congress V-P Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, the person said.
“The Congress appears to be in no mood to assert its position to oblige JD (U) on Tejashwi’s resignation. Its stand is almost clear that Nitish Kumar is the leader of Bihar’s grand alliance and thus, he can take a decision. The Congress’ first choice within grand alliance seems to be RJD,” a Congress member said.
